Why Small Businesses Still Need a VA Even in the Age of AI
These days It seems we can barely go a few digital paces or even have conversations with people before the topic of AI comes up. It’s EVERYWHERE. I’m sure it’s been top of mind for you, whether you are a women small business owner, content creator, or part of the corporate world. AI is gaining so much buzz because it offers incredible automation and efficiency. Who doesn’t want to work smarter and not harder?! 🙋 While there are plenty of ethical issues surrounding AI, I’m not going to be focusing on that as there are plenty of more qualified people to discuss that. What I will be focusing on is how we still need people to manage things and be involved in the creativity process whether that’s content, tasks, or creating a business.
Here are 7 reasons why small businesses still need a VA even with AI:
AI doesn’t produce finalized work:

2. You don’t have time to learn about AI and it feels super overwhelming to begin.
I totally understand as I’ve felt like this and sometimes still do! You would rather work with someone who can either teach you how to use AI platforms specifically tailored to your business or is skilled enough to improve on AI generated content or execute projects on their own.
3. Tech help on AI is 50/50.
It can’t help on super specific issues on various platforms and might not have the most up to date information on these platforms. It helps to talk to someone who has current experience with tech systems.
4. AI generated research and data needs to be fact checked.
There’s been too many serious errors from AI and using unchecked materials that could hurt your business reputation and credibility.
5. We all need each other to grow our businesses, we can’t do it alone even with all the bots.
It helps to rely on a human VA who you can trust to not only complete tasks but get a real opinion on what you are doing in your business and bounce ideas off of. It is still so important to support other small business owners! Plus if writing prompts isn’t your thing (I don’t blame you!) and you explain yourself better via voice and demonstrating in real time via video or in person, a VA is a better option for you! =
5. It’s better to share your notes, brainstorming, and completed work with a human VA under contract than a bot that can own your work and muddy the waters on who owns original work.
Read those terms and conditions on all AI platforms and be careful!
6. AI is such a brand new world.
It's better to work with a VA who is literate with AI. Why not have the two work together to produce the best of both worlds? That way a VA can tell your biz which AI platform is a good fit for you and how to best utilize it.
In a world where technology rapidly advances, humans still need other humans to help get work done. While AI should not be ignored as falling behind is the ultimate business killer; it’s critical for small business owners to still rely on a human VA and particularly one that’s savvy with this new technology. By embracing the power of both AI and human ingenuity, your small business can thrive in the ever-changing landscape of the digital age.
